I don't remember the first ones I pulled, but I do recall the first ones I obtained...

This would have been eBay, way back in the day. I thought it was the coolest thing.


Autographs. Hm. That's a bit tougher. My memory not so good on that one. I remember getting tons of autos on cards when I was young from all the players at the Andy Moog golf tournament in Penticton, though.

I don't break alot of boxes, but, I do remember the excitement of pulling these auto and GU cards. The auto was in the privacy of my office and the GU was at the Toronto Expo way back when this set came out.

I remember buying membership to Upper Deck and getting a box of cards from them....In that box was a 1996-97 Upper Deck Game Jerseys #GJ12 Theo Fleury

Wasnt sure what to think - Was like COOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!! but then wasnt sure what to do....ended up putting up on eBay and it sold for $250

I dont remember first Auto pull but I used to take the Kings cards to go get signed in the early 90s so had a ton of hand signed cards

Auto: 95/96 BAP Yanic Perrault (still have it to this day). The BAP packs were $10 each at the Comic Den in Mississauga. I was 12 and the most I was use to paying for cards was $3.00 per pack of UD. I couldn't resist though.

Mem: 02/03 MVP Skate Around Espen Knutsen (pulled out of a MVP Blaster from Shopper Drug Mart)

Funny how you remember these things so many years later. I would never be able to recall pulls #2 and #3 and so on.

02-03 Upper Deck MVP Souvenirs Rod Brind'Amour (its actually the exact same one pictured in beckett with the strange teal jersey piece lol, assuming practice jersey). I'll never forget the excitement of pulling that first jersey, and at least a decent player at the time too!
