I think it's lower then the US lol.....Freaking corporate raiders hahaha!

Substantially lower. Alberta being the lowest, and Quebec a close 2nd.

The kicker, Canadians do not pay Capital Gains on 100% of the gain. They now pay on only about 50% of the gain, and a low rate. Americans pay Capital Gains on 100% of the gain.

I could show you another 3-4 examples of lower Canadian Taxation, or no taxation, but it will only make your blood boil.

You mean like no tax on cash winnings?

I never added it into any cost...but it is pretty easy to max out.

You're right. It was Duane. My bad.

    No Death Tax
    No Inheritance Tax
    No Gaming/Lottery Tax
    No Luxury Tax
No Gift Tax - In Canada you can give another individual millions and nobody pays any tax.

No government taking 50% of everything you have over 350K when you die

These are the advantages that Canadians have over Americans even though most Canadians pay 12-15% more Income Tax.

There's no estate or gift tax in Canada?

50% and 350K are both very inaccurate figures if you are referring to the estate tax in the US.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/...care-gov-cost/

CGI Federal has been paid $112 million for its work on the Web site so far...

Let's not let those pesky facts get in the way of our narrative.

    did you read your source?

    lets see what it said

It may be much less than you’ve heard.

    may?

For instance, CGI Federal, generally regarded as the main contractor for healthcare.gov, has one such contract that was signed three years before the Affordable Care Act was signed into law — and lasts until 2017.

Devine methodically searched through all of the task orders for the CGI Federal contract, highlighted in blue what she guessed was related to the health-care Web site — and came up with a figure of just $70 million.

    guessed?

A conservative figure would be $70 million. A more modest figure would be $125 million to $150 million. Or one could embrace the entire project, as outlined by GAO, and declare that it is at least $350 million.

To sum up: The floor for spending on the Web site to date appears to be at least $170 million, with an upward potential of nearly $300 million.

Weren't they only one out of the 55 contractors that worked on the site?

    guessed?

Did you read all the way down to the end of the article. I know it was long, but reading is not that difficult.

Update: Testimony on Capitol Hill and discussions with CGI officials have yielded updated numbers.

CGI Federal has been paid $112 million for its work on the Web site so far, which is certainly higher than the $70 million mentioned above. Moreover, the federal government has obligated $196 million, so the tab could certainly run that high if CGI submits the bills.

In the testimony, a reference was made to the fact that the TCV (total contract value) was $292 million. That is the least important number, as in effect it is like a credit card limit. What is more important is what has been already spent or obligated.

QSSI indicated that its contract had been funded to $85 million, though at this point we are not sure if that is obligated or TCV funds. (Recall that GAO said that $55 million had been obligated.)

To sum up: The floor for spending on the Web site to date appears to be at least $170 million, with an upward potential of nearly $300 million.

So yes, the 600+ Million spent ON THE WEBSITE is BS

CareFirst says 76,000 customers will lose current coverage due to Obamacare

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield is being forced to cancel plans that currently cover 76,000 individuals in Virginia, Maryland, and Washington, D.C., due to changes made by President Obama's health care law, the company told the Washington Examiner today.

That represents more than 40 percent of the 177,000 individuals covered by CareFirst in those states.

Though Obama famously promised that those who liked their health care coverage could keep it under his program, in reality, the health care law imposes a raft of new regulations on insurance policies starting Jan. 1 that are forcing insurers across the country to terminate existing plans.

In theory, rules were supposed to allow pre-existing plans to be "grandfathered in," but they were written so narrowly that they leave out many plans.

"Of the 177,000 individuals under age 65 who are covered by CareFirst, about 76,000 of them are in a non-grandfathered plan — a plan that will not comply with the guidelines imposed by the Affordable Care Act at their time of renewal this year or next," CareFirst said in an email in response to an inquiry by the Examiner.

It continued, "These individuals in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and portions of Northern Virginia will be required by the health law to purchase a new ACA-compliant health plan. This phenomenon is not unique to CareFirst and its members, but rather a result of industry wide changes in accordance with new ACA health plan standards."

While individuals in Maryland and Virginia will have the option of shopping for new plans either on the Obamacare exchanges or the individual market, D.C. residents who get cancellation notices will be forced to purchase insurance on the exchange.
