    something to think about

with all the hype over lebron i personally think it will make all cards of yao, caron, and amare go down... what do you all think... i think this because there wont be a demand for the amare like last year.... i think his cards will slowly start to fade and it will be lebron mania

It is the same with everything IMO. I collect hockey and the rookies are hot until the next bvatch comes out, then they are the new thing and the rest start to drop off. That is why I wait a year to collect any rookies I want.

Same old story...has been this way for the last 10 years or so, ever since Rookie cards became the hobby's focus...

I can't wait until I can scoop up the 2002 SPX Yao auto/jersey for $20-$30. I may buy a few (the Amares, too).

well if this is the case why dont people just wait on lebron??? no need paying hundreds of dollars when you can get one next year for 10..... IMO wanting the newest thing doesnt pay off unless you open it in a pack and want some quick bucks....

I dont follow basketball as much, so I might be wrong.

But I think his cards have a good chance of going DOWN in value once the season starts. There's so much darn hype about him, if he doesn't live 110% up to those expectations, he'll be labed a big disappointment.

Certainly, anyone buying up Lebron cards are playing the stock market's version of "The Greater Fool" theory

    that is

If I buy a Lebron James RC for $100, can I find some fool who will buy it for $125 or 150 or higher.

The catch is: DON'T be the guy who's the BIGGEST fool
