Wow. Interesting idea. I wonder if this counts as one of Upper Deck's 11 releases for 2013-14?

Haven't heard anything of this set until now. After just looking at the entire Series 1 check list and now this, I'm very excited for the coming sets! As long as it's not too pricey, I will be after the autos and patches (non-manufactured) of my usual Oiler suspects.
I wonder how much a box will cost and the release date.

I've heard that the price should be fairly similar to what UD Habs Centennial was. Could be anywhere from $120 to $140 on release.
Expect Wayne's in Edmonton to be, um, busy with this product for the next year or so. If I own a shop in Edmonton I'm ordering by the pallet.

I can not wait.
I'm just glad they announced this now. The amount of Series 1 I'll be busting just dropped in half.
Can not wait to see a checklist.
With only 90 players on the checklist for the base set - most of those are going to be pretty easy to guess.
I'm hoping that "including rare goalies & enforcers" or "fan favorites" doesn't mean that they're just making the usual suspects (Ranford, Fuhr, Moog, Cujo, etc or Semenko, Laraque, whomever) "rare" cards.... but they're making cards of guys who are very rarely (i.e. NEVER) seen in sets!

If this work as well as the Montreal centennial release, in card shop, took around 4 days to empty all hobby boxes and then they went to buy some retail to keep selling it at a higher prices. I remember I made many trips to the Habs practice center in Brossard since they kept selling retail boxes at the same price. I think retail cost like $72 in the official Habs store and in hobby shop some was selling retail at $120. So it was worth the trip.
If you expect it to be popular, I suggest to pre-order what you want to buy. This is what I did and got some really nice cards and glad I pre-order as many of the case my store had was pre-ordered.
