UD Serie 1 - Bases missing Foil
I am opening the first of two 13-14 UD Serie 1 Boxes right now and found several printing problem with my bases.
A lot of them simply don't have Foil on the top. No UD logo on the top and no Silver color on the bottom...
Kind of strange. It would now be impossible to me to complete the base set with my two boxes because I don't want these foilless card in my PC...
Does anyone else got the same problem?
Remind me two years ago when a lot of my pack of the same product have been missing some printing plate on the back (some were just cyan, other only yellow).
At that time, UD send my four packs about two months later to compensate...I collect the following:
- Vintage (Stars and RC)
- 2010-11 ITG Decades (Auto, GU, bases)
- Stars from the 1980s (in modern sets)
- Montreal Canadians Legends (bases, inserts, parallels, #, RC, Auto, GU)
- Montreal Canadiens actual players (inserts, parallels, #, RC, Auto, GU)

I have more details.
It seems last only the last three or four cards of EACH pack are Foilless.
After 12 packs, I have 37 useless bases. In the lot, a Crosby.
It will cost me a fortune to ship all of these from Canada to the US so Upper Deck can send me a compensation...

Send a email with images of the cards. I think they can probably send you something without getting cards in return if you have images.

Holy... Same thing in the second box!!
And to make things worst, the first pack of my second box is EXACTLY the same as was the first pack of my first box... Same base, in the same order, with the same card being Foilless...
For those who are counting, 81 bases of my first box were Foilless.
And for the content, beside Chiasson and Monahan YGs, I pulled 4 common YG, 2 common GU and 16 inserts/parallels...
I kind of slowy remembering why I decided, three years ago to stop buying wax... I worked a lot in september and october so I decided to treat myself with two UD boxes... Should had spent all this money on a Gretzky Auto.
Live and learn...

The cards lacking foil, exactly as described (the second half of the base cards in a pack) above came up at the expo today in a number of boxes I saw. It does not appear to be a small issue.

Printing variations are big money in other hobbies. Sometimes a 100% multiplier on the right card.
Don't you think that if 1% of the crosby YGs had no foil, it would be worth more?

Maybe for a Crosby but for many, manufacturer mistake they make, in hockey, is not that desirable. We would prefer they nail them all like they should. I know in the 90's there were collectors for those but not as much now days.
