Here is the funny part of all of this. Being ranked higher than another country is a matter of a miniscule amount of being a better system. You Canadians like to tout how much better your system is than ours, but when you look at the WHO ranking system they use a scale of .001-.999. Canada has a grade of .881, the US has a grade of .838. So you "far superior" health system garners you a whopping 43/1000ths of a point higher in evaluation. Kudos.
Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Canada, USA, Australia, France and Germany.
In 4 of those countries, people don't have to pay out of pocket. Guess which ones?
in 4 of these countries people pay large taxes every paycheck towards health care whether they use it or not also the u.s.a is taking care of almost as many illegal/undocumented Mexicans/south americans as Canada and austrailia have total population and since they don't pay the u.s. medical system makes up the difference by adding the cost to the paying.
not the best solution but there is rarely a best solution

1. Canada has no Mexicans, they hate cold weather and aren't coming anytime soon.
2. Out personal Income Tax is about 8-12% more depending on your Income - so yes you are correct there.
3. Our Business Income Tax in Canada is anywhere from 8-18% lower depending on where you are in Canada - most Americans don't know this.
Agreed there is never a Best Solution. But having your own people go from being productive citizens to eating Dog-Food because they could not have the means to cover a past Medical Procedure is nothing but Corporate greed, ran by For-Profit Hospitals and needless Health Insurance Middle-men that make only business decisions, not medical ones.

Here's the funny part. The charts I posted here are measured in YEARS.

Ok, now change the decimal placement on the scale. Let's go 1-999, or how about 1000001-9999999. Wow, suddenly that gap looks a lot bigger.
Perspective!
(not to be used dishonestly to make your argument seem better)

Don't come to the Okanagan during fruit picking season. More French and Spanish spoken than English around here.
