What Is The Urgency For All The Blue Jacket's Coverage?

Tonight is already the 6th time the Blue Jackets have played on either NBC Sportsnet, or the NHL Network.

We have only seen the Sharks, and Kings once this year. Canadian teams from the West - never other than 1 Canuck game. I do understand not showing Canadian teams, as these networks are US based and have US audiences. However, why Columbus? Every 2nd game watching them is like watching somebody pour concrete.

    Sheesh …….

Do you mean the Jr.Rangers or Rangers Part Two.

I think its the move to the East Division and now they are just matched against bigger market clubs.

It probably has something to do with the move to the East. I don't know who those games were against..... but if it was any of DET, NYR, PIT, PHI, WSH, BOS - Those are a bunch of teams that the USA networks can't get enough of.

Columbus is #32 as far as TV markets go, but nearby Cleveland is one of the few top 20 markets the NHL isn't in (Atlanta, Houston, Seattle, Orlando and Sacremento being the others) the NHL doesn't have. Watching the Phoenix Coyotes change to the Arizona Coyotes tells me there might be something to NHL teams marketing to entire states and not just the cities they're in. Maybe someone in Cleveland isn't too interested in a Columbus team, but an Ohio team that can beat a Pennsylvania team? Done deal.

    Just a thought.
