I'll give you a really nice Steve Kelly. Die Cut OR autographed, not both.

Am I right in saying that these "proof" cards are not cards in the literal sense? They are only printed on one side and do not have the thickness or regular issue cards (like the cup).

I have seen proofs for a Lindros Cup shield with each "side" of the card being listed as a separate auction. That os what leads me to believe they are only one sided.

I agree with many who say they are a novelty. It gives people the opportunity to pick up super low number Cup cards and 1/1s that most of us would never be able to afford.

If you don't want them to show up in your eBay search, add (-proof) to your search criteria. It will filter out any listings with "proof" in the title

Drew, yes, you are correct. The backs are blank and they are printed on card stock that is the thickness of a standard card, not as thick as a Cup card is.
So for the Shields proofs, they printed both sides, front and back separately (so the opposite sides of both are blank). And good suggestion on the (-proof)
thing for searching so you can filter out the proofs. I try to add the word "Proof" or "Artist Proof" to all my listings, so that should filter out at least 95% of them
whenever you do a search for Cup cards but aren't interested in proofs at all.
