In the U.S., I have been putting six stamps on my SASE. I have not had a problem yet with anyone, except possibly Whitey Ford. Too soon to tell with him and rumor has it he's becoming erratic. Anyway, perhaps there is a stamp converter similar to a currency converter. If so, six stamps works domestically in the United States.

I went to the USPS websight and the shipping calculator is showing 12.75 to mail a 7 ounce package back to Australia. US Forever stamps are .46 a piece, so you would need 28 of them on there. You can buy more valuable stamps from the USPS as well. I know I've purchased a 5 dollar stamp before. You will also need to make sure that a customs form is filled out on your SASE to ensure that it clears US customs when being shipped back to you.
