BAP / ITG Draft Redemptions
Hello all... I know most of you know that I do 90's stuff, but a few of the "newer" (although they're 10-12 years old now) sets I do are:
01-02 BAP Memorabilia Draft Redemptions
02-03 BAP Memorabilia Draft Redemptions
03-04 BAP Memorabilia Draft Redemptions
*but, only ones fulfilled by BAP*
those of you who are familiar with the sets know how difficult these cards can be to find.
those of you who don't... well, when ITG lost their NHLPA license, Upper Deck chose to honor these redemptions that were still legitimate but were never able to have been redeemed by ITG. The problem is that UD messed it all up (big surprise) and didn't do anything close to the card design that ITG did (which is pretty beautiful, actually)..
..so, this leads me to my question..
does anyone know where to find a list of what cards were redeemed by BAP, which ones were redeemed by UD, and which ones never qualified for redemption?
you can see how it would be difficult to know if I've "completed" my set or not, without this information

ok, so since no one seems to know of a list of these that exists, I thought I would put one together from what I have seen or know of.. but I need help with these:
01-02:
#3 - Alexander Svitov
#11 - Fredrik Sjostrom
#12 - Dan Hamhuis
#14 - Chuck Kobasew
#17 - Carlo Colaiacovo
#20 - Marcel Goc
#22 - Jiri Novotny
#24 - Lukas Krajicek
#26 - Jason Bacashihua
#27 - Jeff Woywitka
#30 - David Steckel
02-03:
#11 - Keith Ballard
#16 - Jakub Klepis
#21 - Anton Babchuk
#28 - Jonas Johansson
#30 - Jim Slater
03-04:
#3 - Nathan Horton
#6 - Milan Michalek
#20 - Brent Burns
#26 - Brian Boyle
Please let me know if you have any of these, or know of any - and if they're ITG or UD Fulfilled. I'll have to check the back of some of my expired ones to further narrow down this list, as I don't think all of them were actually made. Any help is appreciated!Last edited by phildo37; 12-01-2013 at 08:55 PM.

IIRC Upper Deck only did them for the 2005-06 series. So one way to make a list would be to check when the players in the sets made their NHL debut. If it was pre-lockout, it will be an ITG card. If it was during the 05-06 season, it would be a UD card. If they made their debut after that season, then they probably don't have a Draft Redemption RC printed.

Upper Deck's 03/04 Draft Redemptions are dated 2007 actually :D, they look a lot different that BAP's...........

Right - except they had only so much time to make their debut before the card expired. I'd have to dig mine out to check - you don't remember, off-hand how long those redemptions were good for, do you?

Yes - much much different!! Kudos to UD for fulfilling the redemptions, but they did such a bad job on card design

Honestly I don't think I've ever owned one of the redemption cards, just the redeemed copies. So unfortunately I can't help with that. However, thanks to what is usually the least helpful website ever, I can confirm the existence of four ITG-made cards on your list:
Svitov
http://www.beckett.com/hockey/2001-0...itov52-1575090
Kobasew
http://www.beckett.com/hockey/2001-0...asew50-1575101
Colaiacovo

Goc
http://www.beckett.com/hockey/2001-0...-goc57-1575107
So hopefully that helps a bit. There are others from your list that are available on the Beckett Marketplace, but they do not have pictures of the cards.

I was not collecting in those years but I can say that is very rare that we will get a list and real print run on redemption. The one I remember was the
2010-11 Between The Pipes Masked Men III Emerald Redemption. Dr. Price posted for each card ship, how many were actually ship. But since I manage the Inventory and card database project, this is the only time we could figure out the exact card and print run actually ship. Precious information but rare occurrence you get such detail information.
So the way to go is with cards we know exist and when you have a more final check list, please send me a PM so I can make sure I add a note in each sets for future collectors to read about the one known to exist.

I know you had 6 mo to redeem the card after the player made his debut, but I'm not sure how long the cards were good for, or how long UD was willing to hold the redemption program open. I know with one player from the 03 draft (Jessiman, maybe) made his debut just two years ago
Thanks for the help on those! I'll try to contact some of those Beckett sellers
