Meh, the world tends to forget true history
Umkhonto we Sizwe (abbreviated as MK, translated as "Spear of the Nation") was the armed wing of the African National Congress (ANC), co-founded by Nelson Mandela, which fought against the South African government.[1] MK launched its first guerrilla attacks against government installations on 16 December 1961. It was subsequently classified as a terrorist organisation by the South African government and the United States, and banned
There were so many peaceful revolutionaries who did so much more, gave so much more.. Tambo, Sisulu, Lutuli, Where are their memorials, their great honors? What about the person who actually freed South Africa Steven Biko, he gave his life and Donald Woods risked his smuggling Bikos story out of S. Africa, if it wasn't for Biko S. Africa would not be where it is today. Yes after rotting in jail for 27 odd years for terrorism he changed his ways and finally helped improve the quality of life on this planet but for the majority of his life he was not a good man, not a peaceful man.. He had good intentions but went about them the wrong way.

I have been to SA twice. Both times during Apartheid. Mandela could have started 1,000 wars against the Afrikkaner and he would still be doing the correct thing.
The racial intolerance of that place during Apartheid would make you re-think your post. I do not agree with the World calling him a man of peace, but I supported his aggressive actions before imprisonment.
Yes, the others you have listed are true noble men in the same fight, although with an entirely different approach, but there are some cultures in the World that needed standing up to, and the Boer Calvinistic Culture, was at the top of the list.
Hendrik Verwoerd was as evil as Hitler and what he helped spawn from the initial seed of Paul Kruger demanded action.
Much of the problems of race in South Africa must also be attributed to the English. The megalomaniacal behaviour of Cecil Rhodes and the violent actions of England set the place alight.Last edited by centrehice; 12-06-2013 at 12:48 PM.
