Sharks Trash Talking Marc-Andre Fleury
Some people on the Sharks badmouthed Fleury after the game, in which the Pens won 5-1. Niemi was yanked after 4 goals in about a 7 minute duration, in favor of Stalock who also let in a goal to the Pens.
“Stats aside, I don’t think Fleury was that good tonight,” Couture said. “He gave up a lot of rebounds and a lot of shots he looked shaky on. We weren’t able to score on second chances.”
Pavelski said: “He was fighting it all night. It felt like we could have had five. Pucks were bouncing and laying between his legs. There were a couple second opportunities, that there were times you didn’t know how it didn’t go in.”
The Sharks did this before following a loss to the Rangers where the Rangerss won it 5-2, with Thornton calling them the 'softest team we've played against'. This prompted then-coach John Tortorella to say "Joe hasn't won a g-dam* thing in this league."

Fleury stopped 44 out of 45 shots that game.

How is Couture and Pavelski's comments "trash talking"? Commenting about rebounds and bouncing pucks that they couldn't capitalize on is far from trash talking.

Yeah, if you consider that to be trash talking, I imagine you'd throw a fit if you ever heard actual trash talk.

I don't think it quite fits the bill - it may not be "pumping his tires" or anything like that, but commenting about a guy giving them opportunities and not seizing upon them isn't trash-talking IMO.
Duelling goalies doing poses against each other during shootouts...that's trash-talking. LOL
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Fleury seems to play best when he's fighting the puck.
