    Blue Pen

The consensus is that we use blue pens on baseballs. Understood.

As background, in my LORs, I request a signature in blue pen but I have NEVER included a pen.

I'm wondering if there is consensus on the best brand and type of blue pen? Perhaps someone who is an expert on these boards would not mind posting a link from Amazon of the type of blue pen they use for submissions?

The reason I ask is that I have been putting ROMLBs in the mail since October and have noticed differences in the quality of the blue ink. Thanks again to everyone here who has helped out, by the way.

Overall, I think the pen and ink has really varied in quality. I'm considering including a blue pen in future submissions and I want to know which kind of blue pen is best. The reason? I have succeeded with almost all of the "easy successes" from Hall of Famers. For the Hall of Famers who do not sign reliably, I thought including a pen might help my chances. Below are a few examples of both good and bad looking blue ink.

    Andre Dawson signature looks GREAT:

    Pete Rose signature looks GREAT:

Johnny Bench signature looks less than ideal to me:

I always use a Blue Bic Medium point pen. Whenever I send out balls I always include the pen, makes it more of a possibility the athlete will use the provided pen. Though that Bench doesn't look that bad.

I use super fine point staedtler for ip but for TTM I would just use a blue ballpoint pen with a cap. The staedtler is what panini uses but they are expemsive and can't buy them in stores so I wouldn't risk sending it away.

Bic comfort stick. They aren't that expensive, live five bucks for a pack of eight at staples, and they look great.
