    Shawn Thornton Gets 15 Games

Just as I called it earlier. Shanny gets one of the 3 correct. Neal should have gotten 10 games for the knee. Orpik 2 for interference.

I think I called that one too. Good on them for (temporarily) getting tough on stuff like this.

Pittsburgh can't get long suspensions. It's against the rules of Gary Bettman's NHL.

Well, Eriksson clearly did not have the puck. I don't care what team it is. This allowing a hit 1-2 seconds after the puck has gone, or before it arrives is still interference.

I also suppose that Shanahan took at look at Neal's offensive production and chose to also look that he kneed Marchand, who plays on the edge. Perfect time to not suspend adequately. I don't care if it was Ulf Samuelsson, Eddie Shore, Marty McSorley, or Todd Bertuzzi that got the knee, that is a Punk move and at least 10 games.

The unfortunate thing about this? Raffi Torres did less than all 3 and he got tossed for the year on a clean check where the man at least had the puck.

I forget who was talking but last night on the NHL radio, someone called Orpik out for being a punk and classless. Guy hits skilled players but won't got near someone his size or who has any sort of grit to the game. A fight Would have solved all of this.

First time offender gets 15 games and I called it, Orpik thinks he's tough but he was very gutless through all this, Phaneuf just came back tonight and what does he do, hit's a Hawks player from behind, Dina here comes 5 games, Clarkson got 2 games, Shanny will keep his eye on Clarkson, could be a big problem for Clarkson, Orpik should have gotten some games, Thornton followed him up the ice, but Orpik didn't wanna go, he didn't turtle but he did the next best thing, Neal getting 5 games, the guy he put his knee to is another coward, all show and no go, what has the NHL become, the game for wimps, I miss Original Six hockey big time.

The knee by Neal has no bearing on who received it. A Punk move, no different than a Slew-Foot. Death can be a consequence of both of these plays.

10 games for a knee like that, 10 plus games for a Slew-Foot.

Tim I absolutely agree with you 100%. Neal should have gotten 10 games. Thornton should have gotten 20. I disagree with you on Orpik but we will agree to disagree on that one.

Slu-Foots Cheap shots like Neal and Thornton did should come with an automatic suspension. For example.

    Slu-Foots- Automatic 15 Game Suspension 1st time offender. 2nd time 40 games.
Cheap Shots (Late Hits, Knee on Knee, What Neal did, Ect) Automatic 10 games. 2nd Time 35 games.
Assaults and Attacks (Thornton) Automatic 25 Game Suspension. 2nd Time Full Season

This is the only way to get rid of this crap. What Engelland did tonight is also very dirty and he will be suspended but they need to get rid of the crap above first. High Hits, Elbows, Ect happen so fast and are Boom Boom plays that are harder to call IMO because of player size difference, Players turning, Players Leaning ect. Once you start enforcing the Longer suspensions on the cheap crap you can then focus on getting rid of High hits and hits to the head. If I was the NHL this is what I would do.
