Cbc's bob cole has not been contacted about broadcasting hockey next season
Broadcasting can be a cold business. One day, you're the next best thing and executives are kissing your butt. The next day, you walk into the studio and find your replacement broadcasting in your place (that is a true story). For the 80 year old Bob Cole of CBC's Hockey Night in Canada, he's wondering if he's going to have a job next season.
With Rogers taking over the entire NHL media contract in Canada starting with the 2014-15 season, many long-time CBC employees including Cole are wondering what their futures will be.

I'm a big fan of Bob Cole but it's time for him to retire. I know he loves doing what he does, but it's apparent at 80 years old he's having a hard time keeping up with the fast paced game. There are multiple times during a broadcast where he will get players wrong, not pick up on penalties or get the penalty call wrong altogether, and then there are other times when it seems he gets flustered and loses the play altogether. As a Leaf fan, watching HNIC every Saturday as a youngster, I still think that in the 90's there was no better team than bob Cole and Harry Neale.

It's time to put Bob out to pasture.
