As you can see from my signature, I'm trying to complete this set.

The card pictured is what I am expecting to receive.

However, the listing states that what is being offered is the REDEMPTION card, which we all know expired last month.

I wouldn't have bid, or made an offer had I realized.

Yes, my own damn fault for not reading the listing.

Opinions (not on my carelessness), but about the seller picturing something other than what they're selling.

Doniceage, I've heard many good things on here about Panini and expired redemptions. If the card is still on hand, can I expect to receive it?

yes, this is deceptive. I would ask the seller to cancel the transaction for using this listing practice.
This violates e-bay listing policy. You can report it for "picture issues"

First of all, I think you'll be OK on the redemption - you'll know once Panini accepts it or not via the web site.

I think the auction is indeed deceptive and reportable to eBay (not that they'll do anything about it). I'm pretty sure that if you are selling something that is not in hand (i.e., the picture is a representation) then it must be stated in the item description - or at the very least a disclaimer should be posted. Certainly, any expired redemption cards for sale should be listed as such, with the expiration date listed.

Shame on this seller - he's going on my block list! Either he's too sloppy to notice he's selling an expired redemption or he's being deliberately deceptive.

It was very shady for sure.

If the redemption expired last month Panini will most likely honor it.

They have been making good on redemption's even after they have expired.

Have you received it yet? You bought it on the 14th and todays only the 16th. Do you know for a fact you are getting the redemption and not the actual card or are you assuming you're going to be getting the redemption? Have you asked the seller what you are receiving or are you going off of assumptions?

I'm only saying this because you didn't state if you had talked to the seller or not so maybe there is a chance you are being a little quick here on the callout for what could actually be nothing. Either way please keep us updated, if it is in fact a redemption he sold you then I'd be pretty PO'ed but is there a chance you could be getting the actual card pictured? You may want to send the seller a message and double check if its the redemption or the actual card.

Two points -

1 - Yes, the seller in question is shady should be reported, at least for documentation sake.

2 - I would bet that Panini does still have this card and that you will still receive it without problems. You could contact them via twitter and they can let you know one way or the other.

Yes that is a deceptive move by the seller. I honestly don't get why they try and pull these things when they know the buyer won't be happy and just leave them a negative.

No I haven't received it. No, I didn't ask the seller what I'm being sent.
I'm pleased to hear everyone's thoughts.
I apologize if the seller is a member here. I don't mean to throw anyone under the bus.
I've certainly learned a lesson here.
