eBay Warning: 1986-87 Fleer Basketball Wax Packs SCAM please read
Hi guys hopefully I'm creating this thread in the right area (sorry moderators) but I really hate to see honest buyers get ripped off! Even though eBay has buyer protection it really pisses me off that sellers are getting away with it. A trader named sell.ithaca from supposedly Ithaca, NY was selling 86 Fleer packs w/ Jordan stickers showing on the back (or no Jordan sticker packs), here is the item #261336572585, also pls look out for the pics attached. He was selling at 249.99 each with free shipping, and provided fake a tracking# with insurance and signature confirmation noted. How do you generate a fake tracking#??
He/she even had automated responses to negative feedback and eBay messages, look out for:
"We are very sorry you had a problem. Please contact us, we will make it right."
"I have successfully prepared your shipment of the above item. You can check the status of the shipment by checking my eBay and clicking on the tracking number. The shipment method chosen has an estimated delivery time of 2-8 business days excluding weekends. A signature is required for acceptance of this delivery. Insurance has been added for the full purchase amount just in case there are any issues with delivery or damage. This was provided by us to protect you, the consumer, and to protect us the seller. If you have any issues with delivery of the item, or there is damage of the item upon arrival, please do not leave negative feedback. Contact us and we will work with you to resolve any issues. Again we have included insurance on this item to cover the full purchase amount to protect us both. And there is also Ebay buyer protection program as well. We have a long history selling on eBay and we strive to make you happy. If you have any questions you may contact through eBay email."
The trader has also been known on selling other vintage packs like 1981 Topps football item# 261336661124
Bottom line: If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't. I learned my lesson.
