ITG Superlative Top Loader Seals
I was wondering what everyone though about the seals ITG puts on superlative cards. Does removing the card from the sealed top loader diminish the value of the card in your eyes? The majority of these cards I find have the seal in tact, but occasionally some people choose to remove the seal. I find that the cards look nicer in a one-touch, but hesitate to remove the seal, in case I want to trade/sell a card down the road. I'm interested to see the thoughts of others.
Here's an example:

I can see your point about not wanting to remove the seal if you are going to trade/sell down the road. To me there is greater authenticity with the seal since the buyer/trader would know the card came directly from In The Game and was not handled by anyone.

The majority of people are finicky about these things. It is the authenticity some people prefer as compared to one touching them for better protection. I remember 96-97 Upper Deck Ice. Heaven forbid you peel them. Even though they were half peeled already, and looked way better without the film, but the original state the card was in means the more authentic it is.
And yes the seal just verifies that after market no one had their grimy hands on it(ie sweaty acids, or so I have been told)....Searching for: Jagr, Palffy, Stumpel, and Boyd

I've never really cared what kind of protection it's in, the card is what matters to me. It's the same as the slabs, really. I can't stand them, and if it were truly a card I wanted to own, I would have no problem breaking the card free of its holder.
Also, for your example, the corners certainly aren't great so I suppose it wouldn't matter who handled it.

Most people are finicky about this until they're offered a /9 they haven't been able to get. Then it changes to, "Well, it's not like it was slabbed."
My opinion? It's not like it was slabbed.

In fact, it is not very difficult to remove the seal so that it can be set back in the future. Try it with your nail and if it does not work just use a razor blade in the beginning. Take out only one side: either the top or the bottom, so you do not have to seal back both. If you damage a seal, just buy a cheap superlative card (like a prospect auto from a non-materialized prospect) and use the seal from it. I personally do not like the seals because I like to touch the patches with my fingers, but I appreciate them because, unlike e.g. in the Cup, the cards are usually in excellent condition.

I have no problem buying a card from one of those ITG sets with or without the seal. The seal makes for good packaging from ITG, but after that - it's not really necessary.

I'd keep it in the seal, makes it more authentic :) but that's just me
