Looking to sell PC/Chat: Raising funds for MCAT Class. Read if you have a second?
Hello Folks!

I haven't been on the boards for a while mostly because I headed off to college. I was big into the hobby in high school, talked a lot of sports with a lot of good people on these boards and wheeled and dealed myself into a pretty nice personal collection. My favorite player was Mario Williams. He went to NC State (as I do now) and was the number one overall pick. I loved the way he played, and started playing football thinking I should be the next Mario Williams (ironically spending the next 4 years as an Offensive Lineman, the Strongside Guard, funny how that works out huh?)
Anyways, as I said, I put together a pretty good Mario collection during my days in the hobby. I am looking to take a class to prepare for the MCAT in the coming weeks, and am looking to raise some funds to pay for it. I have sold some of my stuff off before, but I am hoping to move some more of it, if there is anyone interested or anyone who would like to help me out. If you are interested in any of the following things, PLEASE, shoot me a personal message, and I will get you pictures of what I have:
-Mario Williams
-The Buffalo Bills
-Patches, Autographs
-Defensive Players
-Decently high end/rarer cards, especially rookies (For example, I'm pretty sure I still have his Donruss Status Rookie Card, #1/9)
I also know I have a bunch of lower end tradebait type cards around. Some jersey/auto cards, I'd be willing to cut someone a good deal if they would to buy some as a bulk lot. Could post pictures of that as well.
Or if You'd like to just talk some sports and shoot the breeze with me, feel free to post on this thread too. I haven't been on the boards for a while but like I said, I always enjoyed the banter. What would you say has been the state of the hobby in the past couple years? I remember that one of the companies had lost their card contract with the NFL (I believe Upper Deck... What's the Status of the the football market now?) Best Wishes!

Best of luck with the MCAT Dr. You are right. UD made a deal to be the exclusive provider of cards for the NFL. but when they couldn't come up with the money they promised, the NFL banished them lol. Panini bought out Donruss a few years back and Topps is still in the game. So just those companies now, but things are as crazy as they were back in 06. Rookie patch autos rule the world if you are into that type of thing.
I need some inserts from 06 and 07 but if you didn't bust any packs you wouldn't have any of that stuff.
Welcome back, hope you can stay for a while.

Hi Chris,
I hope I can get on the boards a little more myself, at least while I have this free time. Thanks for the update on the market, I liked what I saw out of Panini, although their rise was happening as I had to phase out of the hobby (and go to school)
I also forgot to mention in the original post, for anyone interested, I also have a few lower end cards available of other players (autos, jerseys, couple of patches) that was left of my tradebait when I stopped making deals. Would be willing to sell some of those cheap, good deals for multiple

anything in the way of older (pre 1990) browns players?
the cards can be modern, in fact that would be cool, but Im looking for stuff of the old HOFers, and guys like Bernie Kosar
Thanks

Hi Ed,
I think the only browns card I have is an Old Kellen Winslow Jersey Card and I don't think that's what you're looking for. But since I have the ear of a browns fan... What do you think of them canning the coach after one season? With no real quarterback... I think he got shafted

I didn't like Chud, but Vince Lombardi couldn't have won games with the team the Browns put on the field this year. Chud got hosed, and it will kill the already weak reputation of the Browns front office. There is no way they attract any top tier coaching prospects or free agents after that move.

I agree. I know you're going to draft a quarterback with the top 5 pick so hopefully he pans out. Hearing it's bridgewater, boyles, or johnny football, whoever ends up not being taken earlier. Sound about right to you? Also I remember your new owner was under investigation for... something, earlier this year. Don't know what the deal is with that but you mentioned weak front office reputation so, that wouldn't help. (But I'm a Redskins fan, so just know that I feel your pain)

yeah, everyone says Johnny Manziel will go to the browns- which will end my support of the team. Manziel is such a conceited, arrogant ™™™, I cant see myself cheering for any team he is on
