2012 All time Greats - Gretzky Rocket Richard auto 1/1

I know it's from multi sport product which might curb collector interest.
Any feedback/opinions welcome

Not to me, it isn't. The Gretzky side is real nice, but the other???? I could make a better cut-auto than that. So could you! Definitely Jon & Steve.


What does Richard have to do with Gretzky? Completely different players.

Well, like the seller says, the Gretzky auto has a smudge, and the card itself is full of tiny dings. And you can choose from PLENTY of Gretzky autos and more than a few Richard autos. I dunno, it's a 1/1 from a niche product.........I couldn't really guess a value because I have no desire to own it...........

Here is one #/4..at least it has the Rocket's linemate on it....There was a beautiful Rocket Prime cuts 1/1 on ebay for quite sometime for 1k...and the window looked nice, not ugly shaped....the 3K card, players don't match and the cards don't match...fugly...you could do a LOT better for 3k...but jmho...

Upper Deck usually makes very nice high end cards but this one is a true stinker. It may be rare and valuable but that is an UGLY card.

I'd argue that it's not worth nearly that much, based on several factors:

1) As you mentioned, it's from a multi-sport product that didn't exactly set the hobby world on fire.

2) The product is not licensed with any professional league, so you get Gretzky in Team Canada, Jordan in UNC, Lebron in SVSM, etc.

3) The card is flat-out ugly.

4) Compared with other 1/1 cards from the same product, that number seems way out of whack especially given that Gretzky has a lot of autos out there. Jordan 1/1s from All-Time Greats don't even hit $1K, while Lebrons have been in the $750 range.

It's a great premise, but the execution is poor. I've avoided everything from that release, I just find it really unattractive.

OK, so here is what the cut side is supposed to look like. It almost looks like the card was tampered with and sliced horizontally
to reveal the underside of the cut portion.




yet I found a Lemieux Richard cut auto 1/1 that looks identical to the Gretzky
