2013-14 artifacts redemptions question.....
Anybody have an idea as to when Upper Deck is going to release the names for these, and when they might begin sending the cards out ? I just entered my most recent redemption and the site says 16 - 20 weeks before they go out. That seems like a long unreasonable time to wait. Although, this is the first time I've dealt with redemption cards.
Thanks

Artifacts always get shipped at the end of the year. They won't announce them until as late as possible to wait and see all the possible players they can use for the cards.

The rookie redemptions from Artifacts and Limited take until the end of the year because they dont even know who they are going to use yet. Usually a redemption for an auto etc is much quicker. "usually". haha

Yeah. For example drouin (tampa) the 1st round 3rd overall pick hasn't played a game yet in the nhl so they can't make the card untill he plays a game. If he doesn't end up playing then they use the 2nd round pick for the redemption. That is what a guy that works at my lcs told me.

Wondering about guys from 12-13 that didn't debut (for the auto versions that is).
Are they likely to include Hertl, Rielly, Lindholm, Trouba, Ceci, Wilson, Maata etc.?
Of the 2013 Draftees the list of players who've debuted so far isn't exactly very long (Mackinnon, Barkov, Jones, Lindholm, Monahan, Ristolainen, Nichushkin) and they have 24 auto redemptions....

The idea is to include all bigger name that have not yet played a game as the other were already included if they intended to include them. So it's not a redemption because the card was not ready but because of player that will start this season and had not started yet to play at least one game on the roster. If they would not do this, then many nice rookie would never have a rookie cards. They won't care for product like Score or OPC since they basically do almost any player and get ton of names for rookie but for a product like Artifacts since it's so early, they started these redemption type to be able to get the bigger names out there under their brand. So it's really next spring that we will get them with probably a list near march.
