    problems with copyrights on photos?

I would like to know if there is a problem with getting images on Google and avoiding copyright infringement issues from photo printing sites.

    Thanks,
    Michael

I've never had a problem with Adora online. I've been printing 8X10s locally in places like Walmart, CVS, etc. for years. In 8 years, I've only ever had a problem one time, at a store that I will not name (not one of the large national chains, although it is a regional chain). I was asked to sign a release stating that I owned the image. I of course didn't, but I was printing one photo for an autograph that I was going to hang on my wall. I wasn't printing 100 of them to sell to collectors like some people do. The person developing the photo seemed to have a chip on his shoulder about it, but I just sort of chuckled, signed his stupid form, paid for it and walked away. I've had photo englargements done at some of the largest national chains in the country and have never had a problem. Having said that, you can always run into the one dude that has a stick up his butt. But if these guys want to bust your chops for printing one lousy photo for your personal use, my moto is you do that to me once, I never print a single thing at your store again. And you know what? It's been 4 years, and that store that pulled out the release form has never gotten 1 cent of my money again. My personal opinion is that if photographers don't want their photos reproduced, don't allow hi res images to be released. It's that simple. I've actually talked to a couple of professional photographers about this. There have been a couple of high profile court cases on this, but the general consensus I've heard from these guys is that they don't want memorabilia promoters reprinting their photo 100s of times for resale without their consent. That is not cool. But the guy that prints it one time to hang on his wall in his personal collection? Both of the guys I talked to laughed at me. They could care less.

I have my pics printed online and sent to my home by a major chain. The only problem I had once was when I tried to pick them up at the store. The guy behind the counter would not give them to me. I got my money back, went home, uploaded the exact same photos, printed and sent to my house. I understand the guy was doing his job but give me a break.
