    Baswball Card-aholic

Thank you for accepting me on this trading site. It's hard to believe I have collected baseball cards for over thirty years. I collected both baseball and football but....as we know in the early 1980's football was not as popular. In the small city I grew up in, I might have seen basketball cards twice and never hockey.

I consider myself partial-lucky to have been in college when the market was glutted. My version of the market being saturated is a tad different than most. I started collecting in 1982 and stopped in 1988 due to surgery. I started back in 1990 and continued until 1996. It seemed more like a job by then. In the following year, I decided to sell my collection and began listing on Beckett. Selling sets and singles from 1998-00 individually brought more cash than I was asking for the entire set and....I was able to keep back the 10% I really did not want to sell.

My addiction returned by asking for 15 1982 Topps Kent Hrbek rookie cards for my birthday in '99. This led to collecting one card each year (mainly Topps due to every year by year stat) of my "12 favorites". This led to one card each year of all of my past favorites (almost 300 players). Then I decided to buy the set instead, pull out the ones you need....it was cheaper than one by one and I could sell the commons and other stars. This led me to just buy two sets, one keep as full set and other to pull from. Then I decided get the factory set so they would be easier to sell or trade. So....here I am....a baseball card addict.

I made the decision to stop collecting after 1996, minus parent sets of brands who went out of business (Score, Pinnacle, Collector's Choice). From 1997 on, I obtain a hand made Topps set and the factory set. I added the subsets into the mix when I began purchasing the master set on EBay.

I have cards from the 60's (mainly 65, 68, 69), 70's (great deal 70, 71, 72, 73, 75, 77), and of course the 80's and 90's. 99% of the cards from the 90's onward are cards from the base set or subsets but.....nothing "upper end". I have cards from 1997 to 2012 from pack rips but not a huge amount from any. If I have 50% of one set, I try to complete it, for sheer fun and it is easier to trade or sell.

I have a trade list compiled, 99% complete...As for my want list, it is fully compiled. I have a set list needed and it is of all sets / subsets of all brands up to 1996....so yes it is extensively long. Some brands and years (ex...1994 Leaf) I need parent set and most subsets so I may be holding off on any want list until I gather of couple boxes of each series.

Please bare with me while I learn the site and start listing my want lists and cards up for trade.
