    Jeff Carter.. Future HOF'er?

He's a great player... But do you think he will have the credentials to achieve Hall of Fame status?

i will also say no, i prefer for someone to be a hall of famer that they were a top 3 player at their position during their time in the game. I'm not sure Carter falls into that category. I think it should be tough to get into the hall.

My thought is if you have to ask then the answer is no.

I'd say no to Carter. Even if he wins a couple more Stanley Cups, I still highly doubt he'll make it. The HHOF is for impactful players (throughout their entire careers) and mostly innovative ones as well, bringing something special to the game, and Carter doesn't really fit into that category.

He's pretty much in the prime of his career right now. I don't think it would be hard to name 50 players that are better than he is (granted, I'm including all positions). If you're not a top-50 NHLers during the prime of your career, you ain't making the hall of fame.

What are his #'s? Nevermind, i have google :P...age 29, 248 G / 195 A 448 PTs in 605 NHL games...IF he stays healthy and can play til 39, another 750-800 Games, one would think he could easily double those #'s. He is big, and not injury prone, but that also means he is likely to lose a step, so, who really knows. 20 G already this year.

His reputation isn't good, as in his nickname, "The One Trick Pony"....although that Trick is a good one, scoring, especially in today's NHL, I would say No as a player like him needs 600 plus Goal to get in, and that doesn't look likely.

Certainly doesn't mean he is a horrible player though, any team could use his ability at this stage.

The hall would be loaded if players like Carter were in it. Not at all saying he is bad ......... but how many players were / are / are going to be exactly like him
