what a shame and waste of a patch that would have made any Red Wings collector pumped. Now a Devils collector has an oddity they can't really explain whose patch is in it...nice one UD

They'd better have a good explanation for that one.

I think we're ok, and Ima tell you why............

    - If the baseball card industry is a 7-foot tall man-mountain (and it is), then the hockey card industry is a circus-midget. The demand by the companies for baseball jerseys far outweighs the demand for hockey sweaters.

    - Hockey sweaters are big. You can cut them up into a LOT of little swatches. The difference between a $129 replica and a $500+ genuine article doesn't reallllllly play that big of a factor.

    - Hockey sweaters are relatively cheap. Go to the Canadiens website, grab a Travis Moen for $450 or Josh Gorges or Alexei Emelin for $500. Carey Price is $2500. But don't forget the wording on the back of the card - "You have received a card with Game-Used Memorabilia........" Maybe Moen's jersey is on Price's card. Maybe not. That's the main issue I have. Matt Cooke has ONE GU card available, an 05/06 UD Game Jersey. My friend Randy owns 114 of them. There's never been a single patch card.............

    - Touching / rubbing the swatch will not give you super-hockey-powers. So what's the big deal :D

They'd better have a good explanation for that one.

They hire people who know nothing about sports and pay them nothing to create the cards? That's basically the reason. I mean if they make mistakes on items for Babe Ruth and Michael Jordan then nobody in this hobby is safe.
