SPGU Draft Day Marks question
I'm thinking about going after a complete name of someone from this years SPGU Draft Day Marks.
My question is where are these jersey letters from? Were there special jerseys given to these players for them to wear for 10 seconds so they could cut them up? They certainly aren't the teams jerseys judging by the letters themselves (looking at Merrill and Matteau).

I believe they are manufactured patches, not worn by the players at all.

Blah. Nice that a product called Game Used uses manufactured patches. Figured they were event-worn or just made for these cards but still disappointing. Perhaps I will rethink this new project.

They are manufactured patches. Not a lot of products have legit letters but for example on a Merrill namebar the "E" would be numbered 2/7. Anything numbered up to 75 is manufactured. I would like to do the Trouba bar though. My only issue is there all redemptions right now and none say what letter they are for haha

You can request which letter you wish, as long as you don't wait for years to redeem, since they don't have SP letters. The real game on manufactured letters is production numbers. If numbered out of 50 for example, but in a 5 letter name, they produce 10 of each. Where other productions will be out of 50, which means 50 of each letter, or 250 cards. Best way to find out is to watch the players name and make sure the letters are numbered in order. Ie if Jones, then wont be any J's numbered 11/50 and higher. If you see a 33/50 J that means they produced 50 of each letter.
Makes a big difference as in my sig, my UD Draft Day ones are all numbered /10, but that is an easier plate to complete (because they made 10 of each) then the SPGU one I have which is numbered /50 (because only 7 of each were produced)Last edited by DeanCrandall; 01-31-2014 at 09:56 PM.

This would be awesome to see! Unfortunately if the Jets organization continues to ask ridiculous prices for their game worn jerseys these redemption's may never be honored. I was at the Nashville game and they had a game worn sale booth setup in the concourse. As an example they wanted $1500 for a Byfuglien jersey, I asked if it could be autographed if I bought it, the answer was flat at no! $1500 for a game worn Byfuglien jersey seems quite steep.

Most SPGU Draft Day Marks are 35 per letter so you can complete 35 nameplates. A few Like Roy are out of 10 but the rookies are for most part out of 35 for each letter. The checklist release by UD was clear. The back of the card definitely say manufactured patch.

I know this has been brought up before, I recall another member on here (I can't remember who, and I know I've used him as an example on this - and then he came and chimed in... so maybe he'll do it again??) but what I remember was a similar set a few years ago, and getting enough redemptions to spell GAGNER (six). Upper Deck did the right thing, and sent out one of each letter.

If you enter six DDM-AB Aleksander Barkov for example and they would not send you a nameplate. They would start loosing some customer and the word would definitely go around. It's easy enough to use one nameplate for single redemption and keep the other complete so member can request letter that do not end up double. I mean it's just logical to do so.

I have emailed UD about the matter, and if you redeem all of the codes at once for any specific player, e-mail customer service right after and they will let the redemption manager know you are looking for the complete name. Asked about it since Brodin is a redemption.
