    Yes, those offensive d-men pass the puck up to their wingers. Seeing as those d-men lead the breakout 90% of the time they are on the ice (because they are normally paired with a guy with not much offensive skill), they are more likely to have turnovers. An intercepted puck in the neutral zone when you still have three guys back is hardly an issue, and that's what the majority of those turnovers are.


    And what you say holds true to every Dman in the league.....correct? There is quite a separation between Karlsson and Getzlaf, who is 10th on the list let alone comparing the numbers to just Dmen.

    I thought everyone had agreed that Karlsson takes a lot of chances offensively, and that's why he has a ton of turnovers. I don't recall disputing that. As someone else posted, I'm fine with that portion of the game because the rewards tend to outweigh the bad plays.
