    eBay Question

I won this auction on January 19.(item 171216133993)
    http://www.ebay.com/itm/UFC-Round-5-...item27dd46df69

Then, on January 20, the seller opened a case to cancel the transaction with this explanation – “This case has been opened by the seller with the following reason: I sold item to another buyer. Additional information provided by the seller: This item was sold as part of a memorabilia lot outside of eBay. My husband is out of state for work and did not cancel the listings, our apologies for the inconvenience.”

I understand that sometimes sellers list items in more than one location, so I accepted the reason, and agreed to cancel the transaction. (Not that I really had any choice in the matter, as eBay reminds me - If you don't take action by Jan-27-2014, the seller will be able to cancel the purchase without your consent.)

As luck would have it, this item was included in one of my saved searchers, and wouldn't you know it, another one showed up today. (item 171234316655)

It just so happens to be the same seller who claimed they “sold item to another buyer.” (I know it’s the same one because when I follow the links in the original item, it shows me "You won this auction. The seller has relisted this item or one like this." The re-listing goes to the new auction...

Obviously someone is being less than honest, as I won the first auction for $.99, but now it has a Buy It Now of $50.

There isn’t really a way to email the details of the case to eBay, so I called Customer Service. I talked to a CSR, and he told me he could see the item, the cancellation request, and then when he clicks the item he sees the relisted item. He told me since I had a transaction, I can still leave feedback. He said sellers cannot leave buyers negative feedback because of the contractual agreement between buyer and seller. The buyer completes his portion of the transaction by paying.

It's a unique item, and the seller has a pretty good reputation. What do you think I should do?

No idea what you should do but that seems pretty lame. Seems like thet listed it as an auction and didn't get the price they wanted so they made up that story.

Unfortunately, if you accepted and processed the cancellation request, you can no longer leave feedback.

I would message the seller and say something to the effect of "Hey...I won this a while back and I'm glad to see you found it/got it back...can we honor our original contract." Then post a link to the cancelled item in the message.

See thats bull if ebay can see what he's done they should make him honor it or suspend his account. If nothing else can be done i'd leave a neg. for sure.
