Stamkos is OUT for the Olympics; Martin St. Louis is IN

I'm sure he's incredibly disappointed to get this news.

    So who gets his spot?

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Whoever fits best on rt wing with Kunitz/Crosby/....my hope is Marty, his Hockey IQ, speed, determination, leadership, and adaptability would make him my choice. Not too mention his High Skill level, a phenomenal play maker, and, what seems to get over looked, he has a great one-timer, as a left handed shot on the rt side for Crosby to set-up, give and go, or even play the cycle game as Marty is shifty as all get out....jmho....biased yes. Giroux or someone bigger will likely get the nod.

oh, and he is pretty darn good in shoot-outs. Toews, Crosby, and St.Louis would be my top 3 Shootout choices.

If I was gonna bet on this, I'd put money on Giroux. But I agree, St. Louis would be a better fit.

    I hope it's St. Louis.

Hell just add Big Joe and Marty now. Giroux should not be the next in line.

If I were picking..... it'd be St. Louis, at this point. They way he's played this year (and since the roster was annoucned) I don't know how you leave him off.

I read a couple of weeks ago that Giroux would be the guy though. Not sure how much I buy into that, but that's what was reported.

Thornton would be another good choice - but they've got enough centres already, and probably want to add someone who is more of a scorer than Joe.

Eric Staal & James Neal are the other two names that are being talked about. I'll bet it's someone that's been mentioned in my post?

They just made the announcement that St. Louis will be taking Stamkos' spot. It is a good move.

Marty was the right choice. Giroux has lost some of my respect the past couple of seasons with some of his embellishments.
