Well. Thanks to Tim (mooneyes) who messaged the seller after everyone - myself included - wanted to tar & feather him, and then myself who messaged the seller after Tim got me to calm down a bit, I got this in the mail over the weekend, free of charge and no strings attached...........

I never asked why he chopped it up and he never said why, I just apologized for the results of my rant (a lot of hate-mail and threats) and he was more than decent in accepting my apology and he told me he was sending me the pieces. I can only assume he saw a 4/4 number and what with Indiana not exactly being a hotbed of hockey, he priced the original card at $200 cuz he was aiming high. Whatever the reason, it's all over now but for the hack-job (hahahaa) that my buddy Jon is gonna perform on the pieces :)
Sooooooo thanks to Tim for being the Voice of Reason, lord knows I like to yell eh?

Send it back now and see if they build you a new one. Tell them it came that way in the Box

It's truly the honest thing to do.

Ha! That would be funny just to see how they handle it (not actually expecting a new one, of course).
Ed, I'm glad that it worked out to something resembling satisfaction. In my HUMBLE opinion, I'd like to think my ranting at him had a negative reinforcement effect. I usually prefer sugar over vinegar, but this guy really chapped my hide! Get it mounted and framed with a printout of your e-mail exchanges with him - it'll make a fun story piece!

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say........nope :D

I know I'm just dragging this out and that I should just let this thread disappear into the ether, but the pictures made me go BAHAHAHAAAA! for some reason. Prolly because I can't stand Messier.
Anyways, for the love of everything, PLEASE stop beating on this guy before he runs out of his own cards to destroy and starts coming after ours!!!!

Holy cow! This guy seriously has a screw loose. Pretty sure he believes I am a Messier collector and that one of my alties made a lowball offer on that card, which I swear on a stack of bibles and my grandmother's grave I never did. Someone else did, though, right at the price I predicted (roughly 10% of his asking price IIRC). WOW! Just wow...I won't contact him again, as he is nutty enough to hunt me down. Jerks are fun to bait - psychos are a different matter!

He's sick no doubt...someone needa a very long vacation appears to be.
To destoying a beautiful /4 and /25 card isn't cool in any way.
He just wants some attention because he may be a very lonely person or something.
I thinks that he enjoys to get plenty of angry e-mails about that he actually destroyed some very rare cards.
