Graded cards
I am sure this has been discussed many times but a quick laymans version of which grading companies are considered the toughest grades, or most respected for value.
Is it PSA first then BVG (and what's the difference with BCCG ?)

From what I've gathered here, BVG goes for the most money for modern cards and PSA & to a lesser degree SGC are more popular for vintage. BCCG is Beckett's person at a table saying "Yah, that looks pretty mint to me, belch."

BGS,, or is it BVG? is most respected for value, but it seems fishy to me. The value seems artificially high because your odds of getting your YG graded Gem Mint 10 are almost zero, but if you do get a BGS 10 than your card suddenly becomes extremely "rare", which creates the "value."
What I don't get is that why can't a manufacturer mass produce brand new cards were less than .1% are "PERFECT"...it would seem the perfect ones are an Accident....or, does Beckett notice a slight finger print on your fresh pulled card and deduct .5...does placing your card in a one-touch scratch the edge, Even just So slightly...and not a 10 when they x-ray the thing?
The other issue, what if your non # card sent in for grading IS a 10, what stops them from sending you back a 9.5,how could you know the difference? and give your 10 to a friend or whoever?
I digress, BGS is most valuable, but odds of getting a 10 is a big gamble.

BCCG is meant to get kids into graded cards. It is useful for cards that have been regularly faked; Gretzky RC, Roy RC, etc. but little else.
