Need help and suggestions on damage card

Hello, I need some help and suggestions on a recent box break. Well I just opened a box of 04-05 Topps Total Basketball and pulled a nene printing plate that is severely damaged. I mean it is pretty bent up on both sides. My question is can I send this in to topps for a replacement? The thing that makes it worst is its a 1 of 1 card and also 04-05. How would I contact topps? Do I just use the # on topps website? Has this ever happened to anyone or has anyone sent anything in to topps for replacement. Any help is appreciated. thanks

i think you should call the number on the topps website and tell them they will tell you what they think you should do.

Printing plates are supposed to be bent up and scratched and whatnot, I mean they were used in the printing production of the card.....I am 110% sure that your card would not be considered damaged, as that is how plates are, I have 5 or so plates myself and they all have different types of damage to them.

If you called Topps for a replacement first off they wouldn't be able to replace the original plate, secondly, they probably would replace the card with something less desirable and not as rare.

Just my personal opinion, but if you wish to call Topps to see what they say then go ahead

I agree with oshmeehan. The plates get a lot of wear and tear and if they replaced it, it wouldn't be a 1/1 more than likely.

Yeah, they are right. Keep the card.
