Charity Thread - Set building and Singles

    All -

I hope that I'm not overstepping my bounds on this (Richard and crew will let me know :) ) but I want to pick your collective brain about a few projects that I'm mulling over.

    1) CardCash raising for the Nick Saban Auto in the CC Store - I have started this already making deals to acquire Card Cash from members to purchase the Saban - which in turn would Auctioned on eBay with the proceeds going to the DBA Foundation.

    2) Building a Parallel set to be auctioned on eBay - I was thinking about a baseball and a hockey set. The Baseball one I was thinking about was the 2013 Bowman Top 100 Prospects insert set as I have few lying around here. However, is there a set like this for Hockey that that could have some significant value? I would love to try the Prism Orange Die-cuts #/50, but I think this is too much of a risk. Other thoughts?

    Update 3/1/14
I'm going to keep a list of items that I will be putting aside to Auction off for DBA (Date to be announced).

    1) 2013 Topps Strata Signature Relic Christine Michael (Seattle Seahawks) #8/35

Thanks for reading - if you have input, please do so.

Now days most insert sets don't have too much value and I cant tell you which ones do as I don't collect them. Both are really solid generous ideas.

If you build a set most times you don't get the money you put into it. Unfortunately Im not much help.

***I have 500 card cash that I want to donate to you aswell. I don't know how to set that up though.***

I think this is the issue, especially with Hockey. I fully believe traditional set builders still exist in the baseball world.

I'd love for a baseball collector to chime in.

    Scott:

I just did the Card Cash transfer myself. It seemed to work. Let me know if you received it.

Same, if you'd like my card cash just let me know how to do send it over.

Don't have any suggestions on building parallel sets though... Personally, I like Artifacts base gold /25 or the emerald patch /75. I also like the Prizm orange versions, slick design. Good luck on your choice!

The Artifacts Emerald Patches would be interesting... I did talk with Enigma a bit to pick his brain and I think finding something that has value, and will not take forever to build is a good jumping point.
