How do you break a box?

Since this forum provides me communications with many collectors of all ages from all different places and backgrounds I'm curious how everyone breaks a box?

Do you have a ritual? Do you pick certain packs first and go in some kind of random order? Do you go front to back? Do you break open a few at a time and go back at later times/dates for the rest?

    Just a curiosity! :)

normally I just pick out the thick packs and save them for last. Or, if I'm buying individual packs from a box I always buy the first pack on the left since that's how I pulled that beauty in my avatar.

I'll admit I feel the packs and put aside the fatter ones too. Always try to spread the opening over time but end up ripping through. Today I put aside the fattest pack and got a nice patch. Was a nice hit for last.

I let Derek the store owner pick out the box, because the very first box I ever bought from him had a Bobby Orr 4/10 auto in it. Then I open the first pack on the left and he opens the second and we alternate until we're done. Then I curse at him and tell him I'm never coming back. Then I cry in the car on the way home.

This gets repeated every 2 weeks.

It's been awhile since I've regularly busted boxes but when I do if it's a 20 plus pack box I put the packs in two separate stacks and bust the one on the left first. Ya, nothing fascinating. If it's a product with an auto patch in it I do the normal thing and leave that and other thick packs to the side. The only common thing for me is to bust everything at the lcs since I like performing in front of an audience lol. I also am superstitious and if I get mojo from a certain part of the store I busted, I'll keep busting there until my luck runs out. To take things a little further if I can I ask certain workers at the store to pick my packs and boxes, but they have so many workers there, that that rarely happens..
