    Angry Canada Post irritation!

We all know that a single card in a top loader, in a regular bubble mailer is regular mail IE a regular postage stamp. I have confirmed this through both the post office and in the fact that I have sent 100s of cards within Canada this way and yet for the fourth time this month I've had a card returned to me saying the postage is wrong. Does anyone else deal with this annoyance?

A regular Postage Stamp??? As in the 'P' stamp.... or 68 cents or whatever they cost??

I didn't think so. I was always told that Bubblemailers, so long as they can fit through the slot (as one with a single toploader certainly could) count as oversized letter, and I believe the going rate is $1.34 for a stamp.

If it fits through the slot, it can be sent as standard letter mail, 65 cents. Using these bubble mailers: http://www.canadapost.ca/shop/envelo...execution=e1s1

One of us has been misinformed, the post office always tells me that if it fits through the slot, it can go as standard mail within Canada, it would only be considered oversized if it fit through the slot, but weighed more than 30g.

Bubble mailers don't fit through the smallest slot, they are too thick, it needs to go through the second slot. A lot of time you can get away with a regular stamp, but the more you send at the same time the more will be returned to you.

1.34$, expect many more returned at 68 cents as technically that is not suffice postage. Ive sent a bunch of 68 cents in the past, got a couple back. For the sake of another 68 cents may as well do it right and then u dont have to worry about your trade partner or buyer waiting an extra couple weeks. The headache that comes with that is worth covering for 68 cents.

I was just going on what the post office tells me, if they tell me its 68 cents, thats what I'm gonna send but I guess they are wrong, will throw an extra stamp on there.

From my experience over last ten years, alot of them have no idea. I cant even count on two hands how many times i had to tell the person at the counter how to do their job because they were way over or way undercharging me. Sometimes undercharging is a blessing, but not when it comes to Canada Post

Yeah most are subcontractors, and I assume the retailers are paid on commission so if it's well run they will try to overcharge, if not they won't care and undercharge.

When you look at the rate chart on the canada post website you will see something called standard and medium lettermail, those have to fit in the first slot on their plastic thing, which is about as thick as a couple credit cards, bubble mailers won't fit.

Then you fall in the next category which is oversize/non-standard lettermail... this is where bubble mailers fall, even bigger ones up to 14.9 inches (38 cm) x 10.6 inches (27 cm), but it has to fit in the second slot on the plastic thing, which is 2 cm thick, I usually max out my cards at 1.5 cm to leave room for bubbles. And you can go up to 100 gs, so depending how many top loaders you use, you could probably send 30 cards easily for the same price as 1.

    Canada $1.34
    US $2.20
    Internationl $4.36

Prices will be going up this month though, but I assume the dimensions and weight standards will remain the same.
