Damien Brunner, Gabriel Bourque and Hockey Injustice!
ok so Brunner does everything the wings could have asked for and a whole lot more, and they wont sign him? why wont anyone else sign him? because he is damn good and deserves a little money, and no one has the guts to take a chance on him!! totally unfair.
Also Gabriel Bourque is perhaps Nashville's best player and they don't give him any time to shine...
Any Thoughts?

Brunner has a shortened season on his resume and was inconsistent with some moments of greatness and a long dry spell in the middle/end of the season where he didn't do a darn thing. I don't get why everybody is surprised he isn't signed yet, he had a shaky shortened season and then asked for way more than he thought he was worth.
Last I heard is he was looking for 3.5M, way too much for somebody with half a years experience of an inconsistent player.

I think I heard that Babcock doesn't much like Brunner for who knows why, and GM's are now colluding, as in not giving offer sheets to unsigned players anymore....politics exists even in sport, although I don't know much about Brunner's ability.
Ron Hainsey seemed to be getting the cold shoulder even though he was 2 shot blocks away from leading the league last year, but the Canes just signed him after one of the D-man got injured...I always thought the Leaf's in general treat their players like throw away commodities, calling Kadri fat in the media, not giving Reimer much respect etc..maybe the ghost of Harold Ballard lol

Badcock has told his fellow GM's not to sign Brunner for some reason. Then Badcock gives the go-ahead to re-sign the Bum, Thumber Dan Cleary, who is a useless as TeaT$ on a Hog.
I am infuriated with both Holland & Badcock.
Brunner want's 1.5 million too much, and that's unfortunate, but instead they gave it to Cleary, which is like pouring gas on it and throwing it into a bonfire.
I'd rather overpay Brunner, because he at least has an upside. He is young, and can use his hands to make passes and put the puck into open nets rather than just for flogging the Newfoundland Bishop, like Cleary does with his.Last edited by centrehice; 09-13-2013 at 09:12 PM.

good to see some different takes on it, looks like Brunner signed a tryout contract with NJ so hopefully he finds some success

Brunner, the exact same money the Red Wings offered him. Now he has to play in NJ and be stifled offensively. The young man messed-up.

Derek Stepan had his hands tied by the cap situation and I feel bad for him in a way. But, can't play hardball with Sather and expect to win when he had so little leverage.
