Typically, high end sets hit the market well into or after the season is over for its sport, but Tribute bucks that trend. Tribute comes out before Spring Training even starts. With a 100-card base set, it is not possible to complete it even after busting a case. This begs the question of why aren't the card serial numbered? When expecting consumers to drop the big money of boxes such as these, there should be an idea of the print run as to determine the rarity of the cards. The thick cards and design have been virtually the same through the years. The interesting part of the back is that you don't get your typical career and season stats, just a few snippets about the subject.

There are no inserts in Tribute, just base parallels. There are five levels, all of which are numbered to 99 or less. Each box will contain one on average, though some will yield two. It can be a hard pill to swallow to know this is all you get for your money outside of the "hits".

Each pack will contain either an autograph or relic. In fact, it should break down to four autographs and two relics, all of which are numbered to 99 or less. There are a multitude of sets, along with parallel versions. The widely popular bat knobs are back, along with items such as batting gloves and plates, even redemptions for belt buckles. A huge plus are the use of on card autographs.
