How good are Seguin and Benn!?
In my opinion these two are absolute studs, Benn generally looks on a different level compared to everyone and Seguin is so fast.
I know Seguin's stuff has probably hasn't appreciated since leaving Boston despite his strong play, and Benn was drafted so low and doesn't have many /99 for his higher end stuff - but what do you guys think about the future of both these guys? Both on ice and in the hobby.
thanks for your thoughts

Seguin will only go down. His stuff was extremely hot when he was in boston. When you go from a hockey hotbed to Dallas his prices are bound to fall. Im assuming he will be in Dallas for most of his good years and his prices will fall. With all rookies once the next years rookie crop comes out last years are forgotten. I think Seguin is a heck of a player but being in Dallas hurts a lot.
Benn I think what you see now is what you will always see in terms of value. Being in Dallas hurts him aswell and not having the hype like others also hurts his value. I think both players are stars in the league and both have long and good careers ahead of them but in terms of value what they are now is probally what they always beFlickr: Hidden Content

Jamie Benn is a quiet player. He quietly scores goals, he quietly leads teams. Until you can watch him for a decent number of games in a row, you'll barely notice him. I'm so happy he was picked for team Canada. Playing on Dallas it would really be tough for people to even really know who he is up here, minus BC.
Seguin is a great player, Benn is a leader.

If a tree falls in a forest and nobody is around to hear it, does it still make a sound?
That's pretty much what happens when you're a star hockey player outside of a market that fans will get really excited about. They're very good players, will be for a long time, but in terms of carboard love - Seguin will continue to fall (leaving Boston will do that) and Benn won't go up all that much. A Stanley Cup / Scoring Title / Hart Trophy - something like that - would give these guys a short term boost, but they're playing in a place that most fans won't notice them.

I wish I got to see Jamie Benn while he was in Kelowna with the Rockets - I would probably have the same gusto for collecting him that I do for other alumni. The kid is great.
Hobby-wise, my LCS guys say that they've sold maybe 4 cards of him in the past year. They have an autographed game used stick for $100 that they cannot sell. That says a lot for his market unfortunately. Get in on the deals while you can!
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

On ice potential is world class, Benn made TC oly's, look for Seguin if there is another olympic team, with his speed and shot, I see 50 goals in his future...as for the hobby, They HAVE to win a Cup to make a noise, and being Canadian helps a lot.
