    Who's Having Fun Lately?

I don't know about you guys but I have really been enjoying making deals & sales of late.

Between set-building for Team Canada, UD2, and the recent wave of Gorges & Price cards being made and acquired, I'm probably having as much fun with actual trading as I have in a long time.

I hope that you're all also enjoying the good vibes.

May all the hits be yours!

Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

I must be a "streaking trader" lol, one week I can do 10, another, zip....at least I finally pulled a Mac from a blaster though!

ps, heard about the Toys R Us sale, went yesterday and 13/14 UD was sold out....but I saw 07/08 upper deck Rookie Class and figured why not, maybe a Toews, Price Yg etc...Doh! not YG's but UD rookie class....but there is an oversized Price, still have it in the wrapper, is it worth anything?

Definitely enjoying things more than say, a year ago. I've made more deals with people on here recently, compared to last year where the constant need to "win" a transaction kind of drove me away from the site. I've been slowly working on a Team Canada set as well and am up to about 50 autos for the set, which is pretty good as I'm not much of a set collector. I've had the pleasure of dealing with some great collectors, and I'd say that it's been a good year.

Now that the rookie flow of chasing Tavares cards has slowed down, $$$ has freed up to acquire other cards.

Only one card shy of finishing cup chiro 07 set, three cards shy of 08 set. Cup Brilliance cards have slowed down, think they finally are growing on a few collectors, notice the prices have climbed. It does seem to be a buyers market overall. Cannot believe the deals to be had in premium cards.

Almost feel like going after graded rookie cards but then I slap myself, that's a long expensive slippery slope.

I dunno if I'm having "fun" but I'm busy like crazy.

    Pro-

I haven't done an official "trade" in a few weeks but I've sent stuff out to a bunch of people and I've received two of the most amazing cards I could possibly imagine, plus Jon just showed me the mock-up of the Kesler All-Star helmet sticker card that he's making me out of the card that "crazy eBay guy" destroyed, it looks BETTER than the Panini original :)

I "won" a 11/12 Panini Jumbo 1/1 Shield from SportsCardDirect of all places for a VERY low $100, thanks to TWO SCF members alerting me, and it just arrived today.

I'm going nuts loading up 2/3 of my PC onto TurboLister one by one by one by one for to sell on the eBay. Gooooodbyeeeee clutter by 2018!!

I flushed $15 on a UD Blaster but got $52 worth of fun flaming UD on the Twitter.

    Con-

It's easy to put your cards up for sale on the eBay when your team stinks on ice. It's not a lot of fun picking and choosing nine Luongos to keep from the PC though.

I was thissssssss close to buying a Kesler game-worn jersey, but things did not go as planned on my end. I'm a little humiliated as I did not hold up my end of the bargain.
Hopefully it'll all work itself out.........

    Overall, things are good :)

    Fun for sure!

I've been able to make a few small deals recently (including one with the OP!) though I'll admit I've gotten pickier with trades over the last year, or so. Whenever I take back "bait" I always seem to sit on it forever.... and my wants are becoming more and more obscure for other traders to actually have :)

Weather it's been building sets, player collections, or my team collection: The last few months has been a ton of fun for me though. Finally got motivated to clearing out some of the glut I had kicking around, and then have turned that into cards I want.

I have been working a ton lately and haven't been buying or trading much. I even sold a chunk of my collection to fund another project.

I just had a crap-load of fun a couple weeks ago. Instead of buying a big lot of cards from someone here I broke down and bought a 10 box case of Decades 90s and hit the Mega Forward 1/1 Mario Lemieux patch. Easily one of the top 10 cards you can pull from that set. I would say maybe Patch/Auto 1/1 or Mega Forward/Goalie of several players could be a bigger hit.

Makes me wanna bust more cards though which I cannot afford at the moment :P

I would say I've been having a lot of fun lately, as one major ovechkin collector has a seller listing all of his ovechkin cards for him , which is giving me the chance pick up many of the older cards that I needed, with no longer collecting dual player cards from newer releases I don't feel so over whelmed either

Ive been more into the hobby now than i have been in a few years. I dunno if id call it hobby, more business for me. Just buying and selling, but i enjoy it to see the crazy wide range of cards I get to own for a minimal amount of time. Had a second Tim Horton auto last week, two gretzky autos (one i still have), all kinds of cool stuff. Also even picked myself up a Leafs vintage quad 1/1 w/ Tim Horton on it, but that one stays put for life!
Been a fun 2014 so far! (minus the horrid UD news....)

    Fun for sure!

I haven't been buying as much as I would like but I purchased my plane ticket and booked my hotel room for the upcoming 2014 Spring Expo in Toronto! Every time I get a base or insert I feel like a kid at Toys R Us! With all double rookie class products I enjoy seeing others get great pulls! Small talk is what really makes it fun!
