McDonald's cards!!!!!?????!!!!!

Hey all,

Has anyone heard anything about UD having mcdonalds cards?
Maybe now that they have 24 sets(or whatever it is) to produce they will come back...

Reason I'm asking is I have the complete sets from 90-91 until their last year of production. Base cards and every non-numbered insert. Spent many a fall busting packs trying to get the top scorers and clear cut cards. Great design and tough to get!

I am seriously considering parting with it and selling them all of but if they produce them again, then I may regret it.

One year when I was still living in Wpg, I believe 1997, I probably broke some records in one day. I went to 7 different McRotten Rons, and ordered about 50 sets of Fries, in total.

I bought the minimum and maximum allowable. The minimum amount of food and the maximum you could spend for extra packs with additional cash. Some McD's wouldn't sell more cards. Some would sell you as many as 15 extra packs.

Everyone was looking for Game-Film cards, and I must have bought about 10 orders of fries per day for 6 weeks. I only have 2 GF cards left to show for all the fry nonsense.

I miss Mcdonalds cards. I remember flipping cases (600 packs) of 05-06 Mcdonalds hockey for $1200 each because of the famed Crosby Mcdonalds RC.

My undestanding - if McDonalds wanted to resume this promo..... UD would be all over it. I remember reading that the profit (for UD) that came from the McDonalds set.... it was much larger than the profits from any other set. This was a HUGE cash cow for them.

As RGM already said, they stopped making the cards because McDonalds made a decision to end all "premium" promotions.

Me too! I rarely go to McDonalds now. Maybe 2 or 3 times a year.
When they had hockey cards, I tried to go every day. Even if it was just to get a coffee and three packs of cards.

McDonalds made a decision to end all "premium" promotions.

What a shame. So many memories as kid collecting the goalie masks, the cards and then later on the mini sticks. I always feel nostalgic going through my McDonalds cards, especially the "3-D" ones.

In terms of the McDonald's sets. The ones that are common base, which is at least 8 years of the stuff, you will probably be able to sell as sets, but they aren't worth much I'm afraid.

I would sell everything else individually. You will lose money if you sell the Game-Film, Net-Fusions, Dial-A-Stats, Net-Protectors. McDonald's Atomic, and cards like this as an entire subset.

You will net a good gain by selling these individually.
