What do you believe about God?

I decided to start this thread to see what people believe regarding God. I tried a "why" thread, but it devolved. This is a simple "what". If you're a firm subscriber to a certain religion or belief system / religious philosophy, a small description of said religion / what have you would be great. IF certain people must post, and please do if you wish, please keep it to YOUR beliefs and don't say anything about your thoughts on the beliefs of others.

I believe God is in everything, and created everything.
I believe God has a personality, as any person does, with all the attributes we have.
I believe the attributes traditionally seen as "sin"; lust, envy, greed, etc, are all attributes God has as well. I believe we have a very hard time with certain attributes.
I believe God does not touch our lives directly in any way. While not useless, praying doesn't get you what you ask for and no one is "listening" as such.
I believe free will does exist, but we are slaves to our needs and wants.
I believe understanding our needs and wants is the secret to attaining free will. A lot of this comes down to understanding those difficult attributes and emotions.
I believe free will, true free will, is part of our "goal"
I believe The other part of that goal is to use our free will to be good to each other. In other words, the goal is not just to be good, it is to be good because you want to be good. A reward/punishment system does nothing. Wanting to be a good person in life and doing so is the only true use of free will.
I believe one does not need religion, or even theism, to be a good person. One must simply figure out that wanting to be good and working towards that is the goal. Belief in God = unnecessary. Worship = unnecessary. Tithing = extortion.
Some people understand God more than others. No one fully understands God.
Our best means of understanding God is science, including philosophy and medicine/psychology. The more we theorize, the more we end up learning, the more we learn, the more we end up theorizing.
Anyone who tells you they know God, or that you can, is a fool, a liar, or trying to sell you something.
The only true sin is making your judgments for the wrong reasons.

I believe that the species of Humans are the Apex Thinking Mammal, not the Apex Predator Mammal, and live and die as Mammals, nothing more, nothing less.

Birth = Life, Death = Tout Finis. Not another thing after that.

I should add I don't believe in an afterlife. It seems quite silly to me.

Why start a thread asking "what we believe about God" if you are not gonna be open to their opinion? You clearly state that if they say they know God they are a liar, a fool, or that you are being sold something. Just curious on what you really want to have a discussion about.

That is my belief. Everything I posted there is my belief. I started a thread about the beliefs of others by stating my own. If you took it as anything else, I can'thelp that.
What are your beliefs? Why would you respond to a question with another question? Just curious what you're trying to accomplish here.

I am just seeing what kind of a discussion you were looking to have.
I am a Christian, I am not religious
I believe that God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are one
I believe the Bible is God Breathed and is the best way to live life
I believe we are all sinners (esp me) and that Jesus came to this earth so we all can be forgiven
I believe in the enemy; Satan
I believe in Heaven and Hell
I believe in Free will
I believe that I am on this earth to love and not judge. Jesus is our Judge
I believe that the Holy Spirit lives in me and helps guide me in my life
I believe I make mistake after mistake and that God continues to love me

i dont believe in a god,im inline with some eastern philosophies of a universal energy/spirit/soul/life force that is all things living and none higher or lesser
i believe that wickabee and i are the same soul in two different places at the same time and difference between us is the physical/chemical
makeup and life experienced,and that goes for anything living
i believe when the flesh passes the soul continues

now what i know
when facing death it doesnt matter what you believe you will pray to god
