I pc Cam Fowler but have recently stopped. For me it just got boring after a while. I still have all his cards and probably will hold on to them but my Ducks pc on the other hand I'm starting to move out piece by piece. Again, it just got boring after a while. I want a different look in my collection. I want to collect some high end stuff.

At one point in time I was collecting three Penguins - Letang, Kennedy, and Talbot. It worked for a little while, but once Panini started producing cards and including TK, budget wise it became harder. I stopped collecting TK around that time, as he was third on my "depth chart". I sold and/or traded almost all of the cards I had on trading forums and ebay.

I'm a Pens first, so when Talbot signed with the Flyers I debated what to do. He was and is still my favorite player in the league, but I couldn't bring myself to keep the collection going. A good friend of mine also collects Talbot, so anything he needed (including a ton of 1/1 cards) ended up going his way. The others were also traded/sold off. I kept a number of his cards and still have them, and I'm still collecting hard signed autographs of Max to this day (just auto cards, and just of him on the card). I figure one or two Flyers cards in my collection won't hurt, lol.

Letang just became too expensive and to over produced. 20 cards in Artifacts, 20 cards in Certified, etc etc. And I will echo what a lot of others have said - it became boring to just pick up cards "because my player is on them". I had so many cards in my collection that I had no interest in and would never look at. I've kept what I wanted of his, but sold off the rest. I found a collector who was just starting a Letang collection, so I was able to make several deals with her.

Letang I think I made my investment back or broke even - Talbot probably the same, maybe and TK, I doubt it. There is entirely too much out there now that all is similar so the value of cards, even ones I bought a year or so ago, have come down. Really only rookie year for these guys seems to have held value.

I don't regret it at all. I'm trying to really limit what I collect (I'm even in the process of moving out a lot of my general Penguins collection) to items that won't just sit in boxes. I'm more focused on sets or Pens team sets (for example I have all of the Pens autos from the cup Stanley cup sigs from 08-09) - basically items I can somehow display and not just leave them in a box (which they are still in).
