If you could only keep/have 10...

Was reading the thread that talks about the regrets & reasons of stopping/selling off player PCs and it got me thinking about the player-PC i am attemping (Huberdeau).

I don't really want to get to a stage where i have to get all cards, cause that's just what you do when you player collect, so i thought, what about putting a limit to the number of cards per player....hummm let's say 10.

So i ask you all player collectors (or maybe even team/country collectors)...if you could only keep 10 cards of your player PC, which one would they be?

For me that's pretty easy, a rookie card is always the perfect PC item in my opinion. For example, for Duchene my 10 would be: Cup RC, Cup platinum /25, Ice RC, Ultimate RC, FWA, YG BGS 9.5, FWAP, Ultimate Patch, OPC Premier, and BD.

Now not all of them are necessarily true rookie cards, I think that covers most of the essentials.

Would be same for most the rookies and high end value cards, cup, low production cards.
I like the cards with Tavares as Team Canada, as I it combines my two favorite teams. And also the Bossy-JT combined (which they haven't overly done...yet) my two favorite all time players.

Only 10 would be tough..... As I do really like the chase around going for them all.

My player isn't of the modern Ear, so I don't get all the crazy rookie cards..... but I would have to go something like this (ordered by year):

    - 87-88 OPC Rookie Card
    - 97-98 Totally Certified Mirror Platinum Gold (one of the best parallel sets ever)
    - 00-01 BAP Ultimate Mem. Dynasty Patches (first real 'premium' card, and first GU card, of Ranford)
    - 01-02 SPGU Tools of the Game dual Pad/ Auto /w Fuhr (one of the best memoribilia sets ever)
    - 05-06 The Cup Dual Nobel Numbers (/w Fuhr) (love this dual sided GU card)
    - 05-06 The Cup Limited Logos (amazing looking cards)
    - 06-07 The Cup Limited Logos (the follow up set, still amazing)
    - 11-12 SPGU Suprememe Pads (incredible card, I got what I believe was the best patch available)
    - 12-13 Motown Madness Nameplates (yeah, more than 1 card..... but have to include them)
    - BTP MTO Ranford / Vezina (my avatar)

From my current Reimer collection it would probably be something like this:

09-10 Cup AU RC (the only auto RC of Reimer)
09-10 Cup Gold (the other rookie year auto card)
09-10 SPGU Gold Spectrum (my first 1/1 of him)
11-12 BTP Shooting Gallery Silver (GU memorabilia of all the great Leaf goalies on one card alongside Reimer)
11-12 Contenders Original Six booklet (same as before but with autos instead of memorabilia)
11-12 Dominion Sweeter by the Dozen Prime (a lot of memorabilia from the most storied franchises in the league on one card, and with only 3 copies in existence a toughie to get)
11-12 Elite Passing the Torch SP AU w/Potvin (not the most expensive card but I really like the design and with a hard-signed auto of one of my favorite Leaf goalies on each side you can't go wrong)
12-13 Prime Namesakes x 6 (even if it's with manufactured patches, it's the first and in all likelihood only nameplate set Reimer will ever get)
12-13 Prime Black AU parallel (hard-signed 1/1 with a beautiful gold ink auto)
13-14 Dominion Silver Ensigns (a shield is a shield)

Ryan Kesler has 1100+ cards out there and I have 661 of them. It would be easier cutting my own foot off than choosing 10 cards to keep, especially when I look at a "worthless" ITG H&P show-stamped card with as much love as a Panini Limited Team Marks 1/1 patch.........
