No surprise there. Dirty and stupid play by Murray. He was caught out of position (no surprise) and reacted in about the worst way possible.

Hope that Kostka recovers from the concussion.

I love Douglas, he's a bit of a Load, and gets himself into some jackpots because he is a bit slower than most. He's entertaining as hell though. Never a dull moment when he is on the ice. He's the Swedish version of Harold Snepsts, sans the killer stache.

Shocked that he only got a telephone hearing and 3 game suspension. I was initially expecting 5-8 games for that vicious elbow.

He's something. A lot of Habs have what I think would be an irrational dislike for the guy. He's not my favourite player wearing the jersey and yes he can be a bit of a pilon at times, but he's done well in the "Hal Gill role" of just being a big guy that clears traffic in front of Price.

What makes me scratch my head is the way the check was delivered, and how it seems to be a microcosm of a bigger-picture issue, that is, how guys are delivering checks these days. I have no problem with the way Murray timed his moment and hit, seeing the opportunity before it happened. Why not just drop your shoulder, look the player in the crest and drive your shoulder/body into the centre of his? Why jump into a chicken-wing style elbow to the guy's chops when you still could have nailed the guy in a good, clean hockey hit/play? Murray is far from the only guilty party, it's commonplace for guys looking to make a big hit these days. I think it's crap. Change the culture! It didn't used to be like this.

Well someone got their wish, except it was today when Rinaldo hammered Lucic onto his rear end...a clean hit, but smart? He wouldn't fight big #17, no worries, Lucic got mad and potted 2 goals to help the Bruin's clinch the Eastern Conference. This is one time I am as happy as all the Bruins hater's someone woke the Big Bear up!
