POE Canvas Question?
These cards are relatively new, 2-3 years right? So too soon to know how their value will hold up.
They are not rc's, but they are SP's, not sure exactly how rare? Anyway they are rather expensive,
Is it simply because of scarcity, or do people think they will go up in value along with specific players
rookie cards? for example, if Crosby had one for his RC year, would it be worth a fortune?
Basically just wonder what exactly is the appeal of these things, as it is simply a Canvas card of a Canadian Junior player.

Top guys will hold value in all likelihood; players who don't pan out or fade into obscurity will see a drop.
They're great looking cards, not always easy to find, and UD did a good job of making extra subsets like the legends and PoE as really short-printed cards.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

They are rare so they do command a premium. The Canvas Young Guns will always sell more for more than the regular Young Guns because they are more rare. Just as the Program of Excellence will outsell both Young Guns cards they even rarer.
If Crosby had one his rookie year I would say it would sell for $325. His regular YG sells for $250 average right now its more than that. But on average it sells for $250 so I would say $325.Flickr: Hidden Content

What is their Pull Ratio? That should tell you everything. If they are less than 3 per box, then they will not hold their value, as UD makes cases and cases of the stuff.

I think in 3 boxes of UD2, I pulled one?
Already mentioned: The top tier guys, they'll likely hold value. They're tough pulls.... and while not really a parallel... they've associated them with a very popular card (the YG). The guys that don't pan out? I'd imagine they'll be in a $2 bin coming near year, right next to YGs exclusives.

POE are one to a case
Retired Stars are two to a case
Young gun Canvas are 6 to a case
I liked the cards from the first year they came out 2011-12
I do not know if this year you will run into the issue I have in completing 2011-12.
In 2011-12 two POE were not only SP but were SSP which made them even harder to pull and real easy to sell at or over book on the Bay. UD confirmed to me they were SSP but gave me no idea why they were.
I am going to make sure that I complete the POE set this year early instead of 2011-12 I decided that the SSP were to high I will find a cheaper one later... lol
As to value they are like any harder to find insert but there are a lot of people who do like completing the set so the value seems to hold because you have two groups of people competing for the cards.
