Having spoken to a few NYR fans, 99% of them want him to stay in Quebec (it's rumoured he flew back home yesterday). There is that 1% who, like the Mets fans that were angry at 1 of their players for heading home to be there for his wife giving birth, would be angry if it's announced he's not playing tonight. What is it with that 1% of NY fans, eh?
edit: Morning skate reports by beat guys (but not the official account) had guys like JT Miller, Jesper Fast and Diaz skating this morning. There wasn't a team morning skate so these guys are likely the extras... meaning Carcillo, Dorsett and John Moore are back in. By the sounds of it, team is prepared for MSL to miss this game.Last edited by the_nange; 05-09-2014 at 04:09 PM.

Teams cannot force you to do anything in the playoffs. Remember this ……. Players are not paid for the playoffs by their team, they never have been.
Their salaried contract is only for the Regular Season. The league awards bonus monies when you make it to the Finals, no other money is set aside.
The team has no legal ground to stand on if this were to be arbitrated.

agreed
my comment about "force"...was ment they would really pressure the player to play
you know the team spilsh, its best for the team concept.etc etc etc

Anybody that would say anything directly to me as a player when my Mother passed, other than go be with your family, would get a knuckle sandwich, followed by a Bas Rutten kick to da balse.

With this being so unexpected, a shock, and so little time for him to process this, I doubt he would be any help to the team anyway....But you never know, if he does play, it won't be because of the Rangers, but to honor his mom who was no doubt a huge reason he is in the NHL in the first place. Whatever happens, it will his choice, and his alone.

AV says MSL is in. His choice, with his family, and I respect that.
Doesn't change who I want winning tonight.

I hope he gets a hat trick and the Rags win 5-0.

Fleury gives up a weak PPG and the rest of the Pens (minus Malkin) didn't show up. Wonder if they'll be here by the 2nd period?

2-0 towards the 5-0 final score. Two more in the 2nd, and an EN in the last minute will do just fine.

Won't be 5-0 but I'll be happy if it ends at the 4-1 score that it is at right now.
