probably just lettering of some sort that was stitched onto the jersey where the seam or colors black and yellow meet...from a photoshoot. They sew all sorts of stuff on the back of those jerseys...letters not in their last name could be used. I have seen that being done for years.

Rookie photoshoot jerseys don't necessarily look like a standard jersey. They'll tend to stitch on additional patches.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Looks like the patch portion could be from the 90 year anniversary patch, but I can't find any photos which show a patch with a black-to-gold transition underneath the patch.

Wow.... where did you get this picture? Cause it's awesome (in the sense it shows us how much of a joke those rookie photoshoot jersey patches can be).

I found it when somebody else posted it on another forum, much like this one:

Sure its football but I'm sure the same has applied in Hockey at least once.

That is why event-worn is a joke because it was fabricated purely for profit...there is no significance or attachment to the game. But to each their own!

That's suuuuch a joke. There's still some who think UD can do no wrong though in their products. I just don't get why anyone would want to own "event used" when THIS is how its contrived.

When you see how far they will go to be able to make the "player worn" claim it puts a whole new perspective on things. When you really get down to it does a patch or jersey swatch have more value simply because a player touched it? Game used? Yes, that to me, is something special. Even used, photo shoot used, etc... They are no different that manufactured patches.
