Shipping an expensive card
So i pulled a Mark Appel superfractor auto from 2013 bowman which i have sold for a large amount. The buyer is asking me to ship express overnight without signature confirmation or insurance. I am very uncomfortable with this. He has 100% positive feedback on his ebay around in the mid 500's. I didn't sell this through ebay, however i have several ebay messages where he states he will take full responsibility for the item. Any advise? ALso, he is paying via credit card through paypal on an invoice i sent him.

If you did not sell it thru Ebay then he has no protection. If you ship express overnight there is still a receipt that it was received. I would want him to sign for it just for piece of mind.

Since he is paying with a credit card he could issue a charge back right? Wouldn't that be just as good as buyer protection?

Don't do it. Why would he not want you to have proof that he has the card.

I'll tell you the same thing I tell everyone. Cover your ™™™™™... If your shipping a card you would be devastated if it got lost/damaged/"not received by the other party, cover yourself. Spend a small bit extra on shipping to not only cover yourself but also have peace of mind. Lastly, trust your gut. If you had to post this message, you have some questions as to what is going on. Ship it at least with D/C & INS, not a bad idea to get Sig Conf too.
That all being said, How'd it all turn out?

you may want to read threw paypal but pretty sure anything you sell over $250 requires sig confirmation for you to be covered by paypal. does not matter if you have receipt and DC if its over $250 and no sig conf. and the buyer claims they did not get it even if DC says they did they will still side with the buyer
