2014 Memorial Cup
I cannot believe the game yesterday. Oil Kings have a one point lead for some time and with 1:30 to go Val'Dor ties it up. 3rd Overtime, Edmonton finally gets their first break of the tournament, with a well placed shot from the point, deflected short-side.
I don't think they have enough horses to beat a rested Guelph tomorrow, but at least they have a shot. It's got to be tough to go to the Mem Cup, two years in a row and not win

That was one hell of a game yesterday. Those kids played their butts off and it made for some great drama. Should be a great championship game.
Habs fan and collector! Current PC's: Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, and Lane Hutson...., and of course...

Edmonton didn't win the WHL Championship in 2013, Portland did and went to the 2013 Memorial Cup in Saskatoon.
Edmonton won the WHL Championship in 2012 and went to the Memorial Cup tournament in Shawinigan.
London however with hosting the tournament this year was in its 3rd consecutive Memorial Cup, without winning one of them.Last edited by mikecole141; 05-24-2014 at 02:30 PM.

That's right, I missed last year because the Winter Hawks went.

Wow, great final. Oil Kings finally showed-up. It's a shame that a team like Guelph goes undefeated and yet can still lose everything in the last game.
Years ago in the Memorial Cup in the 70's, if you went undefeated, the other team had to beat you twice in the final. Guelph just closed the gap to one goal, the Oil Kings respond immediately to get the 2 goal lead back, 5-3 Oil Kings with 12 minutes left in the 3rd Period.
