Official Discussion Thread - Stanley Cup Finals - LA Kings vs. NY Rangers
There she is.
This is what they play for. This is what they've all played for countless times since they were old enough to strap on a pair of skates. All the early morning practices, all the long drives. All the hard work & sacrifice. The bruises. The bumps. The broken bones. All for a chance to play for the greatest trophy in all of sports.
The 2012 Champs, the Los Angeles Kings, are back in the Finals. They will be facing a team that hasn't won since 1994, the New York Rangers.
This ought to be a great series.
Enjoy!Habs fan and collector! Main PC's: Carey Price, Nick Suzuki, Cole Caufield, Juraj Slafkovsky, and of course...

Should be a great series, 2 teams that have geat scoring/goaltendeing and some tuff guys.
Good luck to both teams, you both earned your shot at the title.

Everyone thinks the Kings are out of gas.
This is the most resilient team I have ever watched play in the NHL Playoffs in 53 years. There is every chance that they are too tired, but I think this team is destined to have an easier than 7 games series and this is the one.
Kings In 5 Games. They will lose the 1st game at MSG, then clown stomp the Rags.
Staal, Girardi are dead men skating, the Kings are going to hammer these 2 along with Moore on defense. Staal is too slow for the Kings depth and grinding, he's just too slow for Playoff Hockey in general. Kings will neutralize both Zucarello and St. Louis by smashing their tiny bodies relentlessly.
I suppose I'd perhaps rather have the Rangers winning this thing, but not sure that they are defensively capable on the back-end.
After Callahan, they are slow and thin.Last edited by centrehice; 06-02-2014 at 03:37 PM.

I will go with my heart on this one, Ranger's in 7
One can certainly say the Kings are resilient, I have, or, they are not dominant...I like the Rags speed, GOAL-TENDING and ability to win 1-0 games. And Marty, somewhat like Kane, no one can get a hard hit on him.
If Justin Williams scores the Cup winner, I hope someone rips his beard off...just because....:P

Justin Williams - The most successful 7th Game Point Producer in NHL History - 14 Game 7 Points. More points than Gretzky, Messier and anybody else that walks the face of the Earth.

I've been thinking LA in 6 for the past couple days but the Rangers can surprise...just as they have so far. It really surprise me if the final goes to game 7 and if it does, it could go either way. I wouldn't even venture a guess. Generally my thinking is that Lundqvist is playing better than Quick, while LA has the better defence and offence. This should be a great series!
